Louder than expected

I bought this after hearing it is a quiet fan. I have found that it is quite when from level 0-15. After that, you can definitely hear it.

Strong airflow, but a bit noisy

This 6303DC fan is smaller diameter than the 20+ year old Vornado variable-speed model 280SS that it replaced (worn out motor bushings, non-repairable). The air stream is strong if the fan is at a high setting. Otherwise the flow is weaker. The 99 levels of speed are nice & are easy to use. The remote control seems unnecessary but works well. I really like the built-in timer so the fan doesn't run all night after the bedroom is cooled off. Overall, I prefer a larger diameter fan than can run slower / quieter and still move the same volume of air. Slower air movement is more comfortable -- that's why ceiling fans are loved. However, truly variable speed Vornado fans are pricey, but there are alternatives.

Nice Small Room Fan

I bought this fan to replace an inexpensive bedroom fan I’ve been using. I wanted remote control and a wide range of fan speeds. The remote does a fine job of fan speed and sleep timer duration control but a buyer should know that the remote requires an unobstructed line of sight connection. The digital fan speed (1 - 99) sounds like it’s going to offer a range from barely on to full wind storm. It doesn’t. I expected the premium brushless DC motor to allow a much slower fan speed and a barely audible low speed capability. You will hear this fan even on its slowest speed ,

Powerful Unit & economical to run

A very versatile fan with the 99 speeds & only draws .25 amps. We use it in our conversion van that has a solar panel system with a lithium ion phosphate battery bank.

Easily the best fan in my collection

My Vornado 5303 is the best for circulating the air in my room. I have a LOT of other fans in my room as well, but they are for different things. To me it sounds the best on 14, but other speeds are very quiet. Vintage fans are good, but this thing is very safe and uses way less power. I want another one because they're amazing! Thank you Vornado for producing my top favorite fans.

Bought this fan to replace an older Vornado model - this one is even better - great design, it’s very quiet, yet moves a terrific volume of air. Would definitely buy this again.

Powerful but no quiet

This fan is great at circulating the air but it makes more noise than I expected. I've been running it at half-speed and it's an unmistakable 'white noise' when sleeping. That could be a bonus for some people; it's neutral for me.
